When you pass the required training, including work placement, you will be ready to start your new career as a Custody Support Officer. Custody Support Officers will be placed in a metropolitan location, unless otherwise specified, and are required to complete a nine-month probationary period.

Custody Officers are responsible for the safe, secure and lawful management of persons in custody, ensuring detainee welfare.

Wondering how much you'll get paid on the job as a Custody Support Officer? After Graduation, Custody Support Officers will receive a pay increase, and will receive pay increases as their experience grows.
Working within a team, Custody Support Officers will be assigned 8 hour or 10 hour shifts. These shifts will cover day shift, afternoon shift, evening shift and night shift, across all days of the week.
In Regional WA, Custody Support Officers play a critical frontline role in supporting policing operations across a diverse and often remote environment, where access to external services may be limited. Regional positions are offered on a 12-month contact basis, and housing is not provided.
Regional placements are currently being offered in Broome, Kununurra, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Albany, Karratha and Northam.
