Aboriginal Pathways
When you join our blue family, we are with you every step of the way. We understand the challenges of being in a new place or away from your mob.

The WA Police Force is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace — and that includes actively welcoming Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people into our team.
We’re here to support you, not just during the recruitment process, but throughout your training at the Academy and your whole policing career. We want you to feel valued, respected, and supported every step of the way.
The WA Police Force are looking for Indigenous recruits to step up and be the change.
The WA Police Force designed and developed a mobile app to improve fairness and equality to Aboriginal communities state-wide during interactions with police officers.
The app allows officers to select an Aboriginal language and play aloud key messages to improve understanding by Aboriginal people who have English as a second (third or fourth) language.
"Our cultural roots give us a unique perspective and a deep connection to community. That understanding helps us communicate more effectively and build trust, especially in situations where others might struggle to connect."
The Yarning Circles provide a safe space for open dialogue and the sharing of culture.
At the WA Police Force Academy, we use Yarning Circles to build better understanding and stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
These gatherings encourage listening, sharing stories, and learning from one another in a way that supports reconciliation and trust.
