All returning WA Police Force officers will need to meet the basic mandatory requirements before rejoining the team.

Provisional licences are acceptable, with no more than two demerit points in the first year and five demerit points in the second year, upon application.
This can be completed within 90-days of submitting your application.

If you have been away from the WA Police Force for two to five years, you will be required to complete the Transition Officer training course at the WA Police Academy.

Yes. If you've been away from the WA Police Force between two and five years, successful returning applicants will receive rank recognition (to a maximum of Senior Constable).
If you've been away from two to five years you'll need to complete a 13-week course. If you've been away for more than five years you'll be expected to undergo the full 28-weeks training (same as new entry-level officers).
The rank and level of salary for transitional officers is determined with reference to the table below. Recognition of prior service is based on completed years, excluding months of an incomplete year of service.
