This morning we celebrated the wonderful, dedicated work of our entire Police Force, in particular the winners and finalists of the 2022 9 News Police Excellence Awards!

Congratulations to Sergeant Trisha Stjepic from Cannington District for taking out the Individual Award and the Regional Investigations Unit, Criminal Gangs & Regional for receiving the Team Award.

Sergeant Stjepic received multiple nominations for her outstanding commitment to leadership, operational demands and cultivating a strong community safety focus. She attends work every day with a passion and commitment to providing the best policing for the WA community. Considered a role model by her team, she continuously inspires them to reach their highest potential and provides them with the opportunities to do so every day.

The Regional Investigations Unit officers have been recognised for their dedication to frontline policing in the identification, location and association of some of the state’s most high harm and active offenders. They ensure community safety, whilst obtaining evidence and demonstrating empathy, understanding and care to victims.

Finalists for the Individual Award includes Sergeant Reece Josemans from Harvey Police Station, South West District and Sergeant James McLaren from Armadale Family Violence.
